Postcard For MOCA Los Angeles

Postcard For MOCA Los Angeles

2011

printed postcard infinite edition

4x6in.

From November 15, 2009 until May 30, 2010, the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art presented Collection: MOCA’s First Thirty Years, a two-part exhibition of the largest-ever installation of MOCA’s permanent collection.

Also exhibited during this show were artworks still in the Eli and Edythe L. Broad Collection, such as Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Can (Clam Chowder – Manhattan Style), from 1962. These works were neither part of the museum’s collection, nor future promised gifts. Visitors to MOCA’s show were prohibited from photographing these privately held works.

Copies of the postcard shown here are periodically placed in the MOCA Grand Avenue gift shop alongside postcards bearing images of works from the museum’s permanent collection.
